Questions are being asked about whether Barrons will get a second season.
Set in Australia in 1971, ABC’s Australian television drama series explores the problematic collision between surfer culture and the high stakes world of commerce.
Focusing on a group of young best friends, the TV show dives into their shared ambition as their sun-soaked dreams become the very thing that tears them apart.

Created by Liz Dorran, known for Australian series Please Like Me and Dance Academy, as well as Michael Lawrence and John Molloy, the ABC series first screened on April 24 this year.
It stars Ben O’Toole, Jillian Nguyen, Sean Keenan, Hunter Page-Lochard and Lincoln Younes.
Filmed in New South Wales, the series was helmed by acclaimed director Shawn Seet and Emmy Award-winning surf director Taylor Steele.
However, these credits were not enough to impress the critics.

A review in The Guardian wrote that the series 'feels like an ad – and washes out the drama', while also describing it as a 'faded tattoo from a distant summer, lacking colour and detail'.
A review on Flicks also wrote that 'the series flounders, pushing in too many directions and trying to encompass too many characters and themes', leaving the show and its plot lines merely 'wading in shallow waters'.
So, unfortunately, after some fairly lacklustre reviews, the future of the series remains uncertain.
The ABC is yet to renew the show for a second season.
