MrBeast shares outcome of investigation after collaborator Ava Kris Tyson accused of grooming a minor

MrBeast posted the findings of the internal investigation

MrBeast has shared the outcome of an investigation after his collaborator Ava Kris Tyson was accused of grooming a minor.

In July this year, the YouTube star announced he would no longer be working with her following the ‘serious allegations’.

He wrote on Twitter at the time: “I am disgusted and opposed to such unacceptable acts.”

Tyson denied the allegations made against her, and said at the time it had been 'mutually decided it's best I permanently step away from all things MrBeast and social media to focus on my family and mental health'.

MrBeast also said he had hired an ‘independent third party to conduct a thorough investigation’ into his company – MrBeast LLC.

And today (1 November) he confirmed that has now concluded after 4.5 million documents/messages were reviewed, and 39 interviews took place. He shared screenshots of the internal investigation’s key finding and conclusions.

The YouTuber hired the law firm Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan following allegations Tyson had groomed fans who are minors, with one claiming to have occurred when she was 20 and the alleged victim 13.

While the three-month long probe doesn’t mention the collaborator by name, the law firm wrote in the doc that ‘allegations of sexual misconduct (e.g., paedophilia, grooming, child pornography, etc.) between Company employees and minors are without basis’.

“The allegations were soundly rejected, including by alleged victims,” it added.

It’s important to note this is an internal investigation, not an investigation by the police.

However, the law firm also added: “Allegations of the Company knowingly employing individuals with proclivities or histories towards illegal or questionable legal conduct are similarly without basis.

“Here, too, the allegations were uniformly rejected.”

But, the investigation did identify ‘several isolate instances of workplace harassment and misconduct’.

It added: “The Company was informed of such conduct and took swift and appropriate actions to address the incidents, including, where necessary, disciplining or letting go of implicated individuals.”

Quinn Emanuel said MrBeast LLC has put changes in place and continues to do so ‘to ensure a safe and professional corporate culture’ now and in the future.

According to the report, these measures include: hiring new top leaders, ‘Implementing mandatory corporate training for all employees’, ‘developing new policies codified in an employee handbook’, ‘establishing an anonymous reporting mechanism/hotline for employees’ and ‘swiftly terminating individuals who violated company policy’.

The law firm added: “It is clear that the Company is committed to remedying historical issues and creating a mature culture where problematic behaviours are not tolerated as it enters this new phase.”
