Following the events of Captain Marvel, Danvers has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence.
And when her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with Kamala Khan and Monica Rambeau, forming The Marvels. Yes, it’s the big screen crossover we’ve been waiting for, people.
The Marvels is directed by Nia DaCosta, the MCU’s youngest director.
Kevin Fiege, President of Marvel Studios, said that DaCosta has combined her creative prowess with her deep understanding of the Marvel universe to bring this film to life.

“She works nonstop and is a fountain of ideas,” he said, as per Vanity Fair.
“She would spend time in between setups pitching me other movies and other ideas and other stories, because that’s the way her mind works.”
DaCosta, who previously worked on the movie Candyman, was taught by none other than her mentor, Jordan Peel, how to reframe an existing franchise through her perspective.
In other words, she's the right woman for the job.
