Wrestling fans were treated to a surprise the other night at an event in London when Mr Blobby himself showed up and starting busting skulls. In the video below, you can see the popular TV character bouncing straight out of the 1990s and into the squared circle.
Times must be a bit hard for Mr Blobby these days, since his heyday he’s rarely on the telly anymore, and Noel Edmonds has moved onto other projects.

However, the demand for the gigantic pink…whatever he is appears to still be strong, especially if the recent sale of one of the iconic Blobby suits for £62,000 is anything to go by.
What’s more, we can see that the love is still alive from the reaction that Blobby received from this wrestling crowd in London on January 31.
The Crinkley Bottom dweller romped onto the stage at the Clapham Grand for an event organised by independent wrestling promotion Riot Cabaret Pro Wrestling.
The match-up in question was a 90s-themed rumble, featuring other participants dressed in costumes including – but not limited to – Ginger Spice.

For later, the premise of the match is that many participants enter, but the winner is the last one to leave the ring by going over the top rope and touching the floor outside.
If you’ve ever seen the WWE Royal Rumble, you know what we’re on about here.
After a raucous entrance, Blobby took on all comers, trading blows in the centre of the ring, but taking a bit of punishment as well.

He was clearly a crowd favourite from the very beginning, but – as so often is the case – he didn’t end up taking the victory when all was said and done.
In fact, he performed an act of self-sacrifice that might just serve to endear him more to wrestling fans.
He leapt from the ring apron onto a gaggle of wrestlers gathered around the side that had already been chucked out of the match.
Of course, that meant his own elimination, but that was a price he was clearly willing to pay.

He’d already won over the crowd by that point anyway, with one observer later tweeting: “All I can say…is thank you @RiotCabaret for making this happen.”
It was even a big moment for the wrestlers involved too, with Charles ‘Spectacular T***’ Crowley adding: “Today I pump kicked Mr. Blobby and eliminated him from the @RiotCabaret rumble.
“I am an actual God.”

New Japan Pro Wrestling star Will Ospreay also heard the news, writing: “Bruv.
“Mr Blobby was at a Indy show in the U.K. for @RiotCabaret.
“I’ve never felt more sad that I wasn’t there.”
Hopefully this precipitates more Blobby action, either inside the ring or on our screens, in the very near future.
