Pop star Sabrina Carpenter had the honour of opening the 2025 Brit Awards tonight (1 March), but her performance has managed to ruffle a few feathers.
Paying homage to the UK with Union Jack displays and dancers dressed up as the King's Guard, the 25-year-old certainly made her mark during her debut at the awards show.
Belting out hits such as 'Espresso' and 'Bed Chem', Carpenter set pulses racing... and likely the blood pressure of a host of parents through the roof.

Loads of viewers aren't too happy with some of the singer's saucy moves on the stage, seen as though the Brits are airing before 9pm live on ITV.
Alongside several dancers, Carpenter did some impressive choreography, which involved having her legs in the air while lying on a heart-shaped bed.
Needless to say, more than a few parents have took to social media to complain about having to race to cover their kids' eyes.

In a post on X, one said: "I mean Sabrina carpenter is a babe, but when your sat with your child watching her performance on the Brits."
Another wrote: "Can anyone explain to me how this is allowed pre-watershed?"
A third added: "Completely inappropriate performance by Sabrina Carpenter. Pre-watershed and a lot of explaining to a 9 year old!"

And a fourth chimed in: "Mum didn’t approve of Sabrina Carpenter’s dancing, I certainly did..."
However, other viewers praised the star for her risqué performance.
One commented: "Sabrina’s performance at the brits was iconic asf."
A second thought: "They should make Sabrina Carpenter perform at every award show ever from now on."

While someone else penned: "SABRINA YOUR PERFORMANCE WAS INCREDIBLE!!!"

As you can see, it seems the nation is a bit divided on whether the performance was appropriate for youngsters or not.
Carpenter certainly got a great reception from the crowd at London's O2 Arena though, which is where the Brits are being held tonight.

Jack Whitehall is taking on hosting duties once again, which makes it his fifth time at the helm.
Carpenter won't leave the Brits empty-handed tonight, as she's taking home the Global Success Award.
She's following in the footsteps of stars including Adele and Ed Sheeran, but the 'Nonsense' singer is the first-ever international artist to receive the gong.
Chair of the BRIT Committee for 2025 Damian Christian previously said of Carpenter's win: "Congratulations to Sabrina on winning this prestigious award.
"Everyone involved in the show is looking forward to her performance, which promises to be one of the highlights of the night."
I guess he wasn't kidding, eh?
LADbible has contacted Carpenter's representatives and ITV for comment.
Most shocking and controversial Brits moments
1997: Geri Halliwell's Union Jack dress
It was a successful Brits for the Spice Girls, who took home the gong for British Single of the Year and British Video of the Year, but it was Geri Halliwell's dress that really stole the show.
The star's infamous minidress became a pop culture icon, stirring up plenty of controversy at the time, thanks in no small part to her underwear being on show.

1998: Deputy PM John Prescott gets hurled with ice water
Danbert Nobacon, of pop band Chumbawamba, gave us one of the most jaw-dropping moments of the awards when he chucked a bucket full of ice water over then-deputy prime minister John Prescott, who was left with a suitably drenched outfit and a face like a slapped a*se.

2012: Adele gives the middle finger
Under pressure from producers to wrap things up, host James Corden cut off Adele's speech after she took home the gong for Best Album, which didn't go down well with the singer, who stuck up her middle finger to the camera.
Adele said the move was aimed at 'the suits at the Brit Awards, not to my fans', with the organisers later issuing an apology for cutting her off.

2015: Madonna takes a tumble
This was definitely one of those 'geez, I felt that' moments...
As Madonna returned to the Brits stage for the first time in two decades, things quickly went west after she went absolutely flying down a set of stairs thanks to a catastrophic wardrobe malfunction.
It was later found that her cape was tied on too tight, so when one of her dancers tried to take it off as part of a dramatic outfit reveal, it yanked the queen of pop offstage. Ouch.

2018: Stormzy takes aim at Theresa May
While performing a medley of his most popular hits, the grime star began to freestyle a verse about then-prime minister Theresa May's response to the Grenfell Tower fire.
"Yo, Theresa May, where’s the money for Grenfell? / What, you thought we just forgot about Grenfell? / You’re criminals, and you got the cheek to call us savages / You should do some jail time, you should pay some damages," he rapped.
2019: Jack Whitehall's insanely awkward Little Mix interview
In perhaps one of the most toe-curling moments in Brits history, host Jack Whitehall conducted a pretty awkward spontaneous chat with pop band Little Mix as he seemingly attempted to bring up their alleged feud with Piers Morgan.
"He didn’t like that picture where you stripped off naked … voluptuous chest and four chins, it must have been like looking in the mirror for him. Jesy, what would you say to that dutty wasteman?" Whitehall said - which, it's safe to say, went down like a lead balloon and resulted in the biggest tumbleweed moment of the event.
