However, when he attempts to target lawyer Alice Archer (played by Gemma Arterton) - she becomes determined to see he’s brought to justice.
An official synopsis reads: “A con artist masquerades as an MI5 agent for years. But then he scams a quick-witted lawyer — who decides to take him down. Based on a true story.”
With Daniel Craig announcing he’d be stepping away from the role of the iconic spy, the hunt is on to find a new Bond and after watching the movie some fans reckon Norton would be the ideal choice, with one person suggesting the movie was ‘a possible Bond trial for James Norton’.
While another said simply: “I think James Norton would be a great Bond.”

And it seems as though the movie’s release has also lead to a flurry of punters putting their money where their mouth is, because Norton has seen his odds cut by William Hill as he climbs up the list of potential Bond actors.
A William Hill spokesperson told the Gazette Herald: “James Norton has been on our radar for quite some time now, and his impressive career would definitely catch the eye of Barbara Broccoli and her team.
"From War & Peace to McMafia, Norton has shown how versatile he can be when it comes to his range of characters - so, perhaps a spy role could well be on the cards for him.

"Current favourites for the next James Bond are Regé-Jean Page at 3-1, and Idris Elba and Henry Cavill both priced at 5-1."
Over the weekend, fans threw a new name into the hat for the role after seeing Ryan Gosling's performance in The Gray Man.
But what does he think about the possibility of slipping on a tux and sipping on a martini - shaken, not stirred, obviously?
"I'm not sure that they want a Canadian in that role," he joked.

"I'm not sure anyone's, you know, asking for that, I don't even think Canadians are asking for that, I don't think anyone wants that."
