Ryan Reynolds has admitted it’s hard keeping up with ‘beast’ Hugh Jackman during preparation for Deadpool 3.
While at the 2023 Canadian Screen Awards, the 46-year-old revealed that he's undertaking some gruelling training to slip back into the tight red suit for the threequel.
However, he’s got his work cut out for him.

He told ET Canada: “I’m trying… Hugh Jackman is a beast, you know? He’s clearly obsessed with his own body. So, keeping up with someone who’s that diligent is going to be challenging.”
While Reynolds is extremely fit, we must admit Wolverine is in a league of his own.
I say this while sipping hot chocolate on the couch, with last night’s pizza waiting for me in the fridge.

Jackman responded to the statement via Twitter, writing: “More like petrified. Have you seen you?”
Deadpool fans were sent into a frenzy last year after the two actors announced that Jackman would be reprising the role of Logan in the latest installment in the franchise.
Reynolds says he spent years convincing Jackman to appear in Deadpool’s emergence into the MCU.
“I mean, I never stopped… I was just pestering him like a gnat over the last many years. I believe in timing… and I think he was ready,” he said to ET Canada.
“I think he was excited. And what we pitched him was enough of a divergence from the character that he knows and the character that he’s left behind, that it gives him something completely new to play and something that he’s really excited to do.”

And **spoiler alert** for those of you thinking, how could Wolverine appear in Deadpool 3 after being spectacularly killed off in Logan?
Well, last year, during an interview with SiriusXM, Jackman said that the latest Deadpool flick wouldn’t affect Logan’s timeline whatsoever.
“It’s all because of this device they have in the Marvel world of moving around timelines," Jackman said.
"Now we can go back because, you know, it’s science. So, I don’t have to screw with the Logan timeline, which was important to me. And I think probably to the fans too."

His remarks came after Reynolds confirmed that as Logan takes place in 2029, Deadpool 3 wouldn’t be 'touching that'.
Ah, there’s a reason for everything.
