Here is the reason why former child star Amanda Bynes made the decision to retire from Hollywood at the age of 24, as she confirms a surprise move to OnlyFans.
Following her breakout role on Nickelodeon sketch series All That, Bynes starred in a stream of children's films and TV series throughout the early noughties before abruptly retiring from the industry in 2010.
The former actor would then face highly publicised legal and health struggles over the following years, notably being charged with a DUI in 2012 and reckless endangerment the following year. She would later be placed under conservatorship of her parents, which remained in place from August 2013 to March 2022.

Since then, Bynes has tried her hand at numerous careers, which included hosting a short-lived podcast, getting her licence as a nail technician and, most recently, launching an account on OnlyFans.

But what led to Bynes making the decision to walk away from a lucrative career in Hollywood at the age of 24?
According to the former child actor, the decision came after watching herself opposite Emma Stone in teen-comedy Easy A.
A high school re-imagination of 1850 novel The Scarlet Letter, Bynes played the antagonist to Stone's main character. However she would struggle to watch herself back in the film, later revealing to Paper Magazine that watching Easy A made her convinced that she needed to stop acting.

"I literally couldn't stand my appearance in that movie and I didn't like my performance," she said at the time.
"I was absolutely convinced I needed to stop acting after seeing it."
The 39-year-old also revealed that she'd been smoking marijuana prior to the film's premiere, something which she believes may have impacted her judgement at the time.
"I was high on marijuana when I saw that but for some reason it really started to affect me," she explained.

"I don't know if it was a drug-induced psychosis or what, but it affected my brain in a different way than it affects other people. It absolutely changed my perception of things."
Bynes continued: "I saw it and I was convinced that I should never be on camera again."
The former actor announced her decision to join OnlyFans yesterday and would be charging fans $50 (£38) a month for to subscribe. She also clarified that she would not be posting explicit content on her account.
“Disclaimer: I’m doing OnlyFans to chat with my fans through dm’s," she wrote on her Instagram Stories.
"I won’t be posting any sleazy content."
